CYPRIOT LANDSCAPES
🌊 Cypriot Landscapes
by DoodLynn Den
The Confluence of Deep History and Luxury Fine Art
Our Cypriot Landscapes collection is created exclusively for discerning collectors, luxury spaces, and bespoke interior design. Each signature piece is a unique dialogue between the rugged, ancient earth of Cyprus and the vivid, fluid life of the surrounding Mediterranean Sea.
🪵 The Timber: Ancient Wild Olive Wood
Every sculpture begins in our sustainable grove in Layia. We look for ancient wild olive wood possessing a dense, chaotic, and dramatic grain—features that can take centuries of island sun and wind to develop. Through meticulous hand-carving, these natural contours are transformed to replicate the weathered, monumental sea caves and dramatic cliffs of Cape Greco.
💎 The Medium: Vibrant Artisan Resin
To bring the landscape to life, the organic warmth of the timber is seamlessly paired with custom-tinted, jewel-toned resins. This modern medium captures the crystal-clear turquoise waters and deep oceanic blues of the Cyprus coast, allowing light to pass through the sculpture just as it does through the sea.
A Note for Collectors: Because no two roots of wild olive wood grow the same, every piece in the Cape Greco collection is an absolute one-of-a-kind exclusive. We do not replicate designs; we allow the natural soul of the wood to dictate the final, unrepeatable form.
🌿 Our Commitment to Sustainable Art
At DoodLynn Den, our deep respect for the Cypriot environment guides every step of our process. We believe in true craftsmanship that honors the earth, approaching our materials with strict ecological responsibility:
-
Sustainably Sourced Timber: The wild olive wood used in our sculptures is sourced exclusively from our own managed grove in Layia. We never fell living, healthy trees; we work only with naturally fallen timber, storm-damaged wood, or carefully managed agricultural trimmings.
-
A Zero-Waste Philosophy: We treat this rare, ancient wood as a precious resource. Smaller trimmings are utilized for our traditional crafts, and our pure olive wood sawdust is saved and repurposed, ensuring nothing from the grove goes to waste.
-
Heirloom Longevity: By embedding the raw timber in a durable artistic medium, we lock carbon into these sculptures permanently. These are not mass-produced, disposable items, but sustainable heirloom pieces designed to be cherished for generations.
