The Mosquito & 307 Squadron

“Carved from a single piece of ancient wild olive wood from the hills of Layia, this De Havilland Mosquito honors a legendary legacy of international alliance.

During the darkest days of WWII, the brave Polish pilots of 307 Squadron ‘The Lwów Eagle Owls’ operated under British RAF command as a pioneering night fighter unit. Equipped with cutting-edge airborne radar, they guarded the skies over South West England, defending the nation against night attacks with unmatched skill and bravery.

This hand-carved sculpture captures the sleek, lethal lines of the wooden wonder that was the Mosquito. It has been proudly donated to the 307 Squadron Project and officially recognized by the Polish Embassy in Nicosia, uniting the living history of Cyprus timber with the eternal memory of the heroes of the skies.”
