Shading History from Grain to Wing
Drawing on over 15 years of living in Devon and inspired by its aviation heritage, my workshop in Cyprus bridges classic RAF history with hand-carved artistry. Using ancient wild olive wood from Layia, each bespoke World War II aircraft model reflects the layered grain of the skies and preserves an immortal legacy.
Every legendary aircraft tells a story of unmatched grit, but some stories deserve to be carved directly into the elements. Based out of the historic, rugged landscapes of Devon, my project bridges the gap between classic aviation history and high-end artisanal woodwork.
Utilising select cuts of olive wood, I meticulously sculpt iconic World War II RAF aircraft entirely by hand. The shifting, deeply layered grain of the olive wood mirrors the tempestuous skies over the Devon coastline, making every single model a completely unique, living testament to history. These aren’t mass-produced replicas below—they are bespoke visual focal points designed to preserve the immortal legacy of the skies.

During the darkest days of WWII, the brave Polish pilots of 307 Squadron ‘The Lwów Eagle Owls’ operated under British RAF command as a pioneering night fighter unit. Equipped with cutting-edge airborne radar, they guarded the skies over Exeter South West England, defending the nation against night attacks with unmatched skill and bravery.
This hand-carved sculpture captures the sleek, lethal lines of the wooden wonder that was the Mosquito. It has now been proudly donated to the 307 Squadron Project and is officially recognised by the Polish Embassy in Nicosia, uniting the living history of Cyprus olive wood with the eternal memory of the heroes of the skies.

Supermarine Spitfire
Sculpted as a companion piece over months from a single, dense block of wild olive wood, this Supermarine Spitfire stands as the ultimate symbol of British / Polish resilience and frontline defence.
Operating under No. 10 Group Fighter Command, the Spitfires of RAF Exeter formed a vital defensive shield along the vulnerable south coast and the Western Approaches. From intense daylight dogfights during the Battle of Britain to relentless coastal patrols, these aircraft held the line against heavy Luftwaffe onslaughts targeting Britain’s vital ports and infrastructure.

Because each piece is individually carved by hand from select, dense cuts of olive wood, please note that a single model takes several weeks to multiple months to produce.
From matching the intricate grain patterns to carving accurate scale details and hand-polishing the final silhouette, this is a slow, meticulous labour of love. The result is a museum-quality heirloom that cannot be rushed.
