THE GROVE: ANCIENT OLIVE WOOD

Hand-carved by Pete

Every piece I carve comes from fallen or pruning Cyprus olive trees in our village of Lageia, some of which have seen centuries of Mediterranean sun. The  focus here is to reveal the silver grain and the deep shadows hidden beneath the bark as most of the olive trees are around 100-500 years old.”

THE SENSORY MALA COLLECTION
Soul Jewellry for Spiritual & Intentional Lifestyles
Our Asymmetrical Sensory Malas and Texture Strands are hand-carved to serve as active, tactile tools for modern mindfulness. Traditional prayer beads are entirely uniform, which often allows the mind to wander onto autopilot. Our strands break that mold to intentionally ground you.
    • The Power of Asymmetry: By consciously mixing entirely different hand-carved shapes—from thin, flat wheel discs and long cylinders to scored barrels and dense, raw knots—every single bead tells a different physical story to your fingers.
    • Sensory Grounding: As you slide each unique shape between your thumb and forefinger, the sudden shift in texture acts as a physical anchor. It gently pulls your awareness straight back to the present moment, helping to soothe stress, ease anxiety, and deepen breathwork.
    • Natural Soundscape: Carved from the dense heartwood of Lageia’s ancient trees, these flat-wheel discs and textured shapes produce a distinct, crisp, natural clicking sound when moved. The rhythmic acoustic pattern mimics the calming sound of a mountain stream or soft rain clicker.

“Archived Works: Unique creations from The Grove, now residing in private collections.”

Olive wood is a living, breathing material. After harvesting, these pieces often sit in my workshop for weeks / years to ‘cure’ and find their final form before the first chisel touch. This slow process ensures your heirloom will last a lifetime.

“Our preservation process is entirely chemical-free, body-safe, and deeply rooted in our community. We protect our fine art sculptures and sensory malas using a custom, homemade beeswax polish
